Still confused about what the Affordable Care Act health insurance requirement means for you? Nervous about using the HealthCare.gov website after its rocky start?

Health insurance experts will explain the system and answer any questions at a Jan. 9 informational meeting hosted by the Rockdale-Newton County League of Women Voters. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Rockdale Career Academy, 1064 Culpepper Drive in Conyers.

“We had thought there was so much confusion and there was so much misinformation,” said League President Allene Eatman. “It’s more or less the when, where and how (of getting insurance) people aren’t clear on.”

Experts at the meeting will include representatives from: Georgians for a Healthy Future, a health care advocacy group; Oakhurst Medical Centers; the University of Georgia Health Navigators program; and the insurance company Wynn Network Associates.

The meeting will be purely educational, Eatman said. The experts will tell people how to enroll, but cannot actually sign them up for health insurance at the meeting. They also cannot recommend specific insurance companies.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization that promotes better understanding of public policy issues. For more information, see lwvga.org/rockdale.
