A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held last Friday in celebration of the recent installation of six outdoor exercise stations along the Olde Town Conyers Trail adjacent to the Rockdale County Government Annex facility and Wheeler Park at 1400 Parker Road.

Through its Health Trust Rockdale grants program, the Hospital Authority of Rockdale County awarded $6,477 to fund four pieces of the equipment: a chest press, an elliptical trainer, a pull down trainer and a leg press. Elisa Frey Jackson of Kids ‘R' Kids Preschool in Honey Creek sponsored two additional stations including a skywalker and a sit up board.

The ceremony included comments from Allan Jones, vice-chairman of the hospital authority, as well as Conyers Mayor Randy Mills, Rockdale County Chief of Staff Gerald Sanders and Jackie Lunsford, Director of Rockdale County Recreation and Maintenance.

"By installing this exercise equipment, we have created a true fitness system that provides a well-balanced fitness routine for the entire body," Jones said during the ceremony.
