Shoal Creek Elementary recently held an Empty Bowls dinner fundraiser as a school wide service project involving students, clubs, staff and partners in education. Participants purchased meals served in bowls created by students that the participants could keep. Proceeds went to Rockdale Emergency Relief our local food pantry. Beta club students served as hosts for the evening, serving the meal and selling the tickets. Some of our partners in education from North Georgia Bank served the meal alongside the Beta club students. The fourth grade classes worked with our music teacher and performed some entertaining songs. Kindergarten, first and second grade classes worked with the art teacher to create colorful decorations and third, fourth and fifth created the ceramic keepsake bowls. Teachers, staff and some families donated the meal of soup, bread and desserts. (from left to right) Tru Jamison and Auri Brown
