After two days of interviews, the Republican and Democratic elections board members named their top two candidates for the third, at-large position.

Republican member Jonny Brown named Cary Bond, who is currently serving as the interim third member, and William Todd as his top two picks.

Democratic member Caycie Dix named David Farmer and  William Todd as her top two selections.

About eight candidates submitted applications by the Dec. 31 deadline: current interim third member Cary Bond, former Rockdale County judge William Todd, Jr., SPLOST Oversight Committee member Charles Chance, trucking industry businessman David Farmer, John Bickford, Rockdale Republican Party precinct leader Sandi Folsom, South Rockdale Civic Association organizer T. Eleanor Davis, and David Collins, formerly with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. However, only six were interviewed, according to an observer, after Bickford and Davis withdrew their names.

Brown and Dix will reconvene on Jan. 23, 10 a.m., at 1400 Parker Road to vote on their final choice.
