UPDATE: The elderly woman killed on Duncan Road has been identified as 76-year-old Wanda Wilson. The driver, 20-year-old Jessica Wood reportedly stopped and contacted authorities after striking Wilson. According to Georgia State Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright, Wood will not be charged in the accident.

ORIGINAL STORY: A 76-year-old Covington woman was struck and killed as she crossed the street to get her mail.

The woman was at the 300 block on Duncan Road, when a driver came around the curve and struck the woman. The Georgia State Patrol is currently investigating the incident.
