Eight Rockdale Riptides swim team members have qualified for the Georgia 14-Under Short Course Championships this weekend in Atlanta.

The eight swimmers will represent the Riptides in 69 events at the state competition.

The Riptides’Corey Kidd (10) and Payton Morris (9) will represent Rockdale in 12 events each, qualifying for the 50 freestyle, 100 free, 200 free, 500 free, 50 backstroke, 100 back, 50 breaststroke, 100 breast, 50 butterfly, 100 fly, 100 individual medley and 200 IM.

Sarah Riley (12) qualified for 11 events at the state compeition, competing in the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 500 free, 50 breast, 50 fly, 100 fly, 200 fly, 100 IM, 200 IM and 400 IM.

Ten-year-old Emma Brock will compete in the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 50 back, 100 back, 50 breast, 100 breast, 50 fly, 100 IM and 200 IM, while Thien-An Maynard (11) qualified to swim in the 50 back, 100 back, 200 back, 50 breast, 100 breast, 200 breast, 100 IM, 200 IM and 400 IM.

Kelley White (10) will represent the Riptides in six events, including the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 500 free, 50 back and 100 back. Brittany Major (13) will compete in the 50 free.

Delaney Willette, who qualified for eight events, will be sidelined due to a foot injury.
