Ebenezer UMC "Shines"
Ebenezer-Graveside-scene
Xstream, Ebenezer United Methodist Church's youth/adult ensemble, will stage "Shine: A Journey of Faith," Saturday, May 9 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 10 at 3 p.m. in the church's student warehouse, 2533 Stanton Road.

"Shine" tells the story of Megan and her journey through loss into a true understanding of faith gained through the love of her family, her friends and ultimately, God. The original production was written by Joseph Harrison, who is a part of the ensemble. The score incorporates music from several genres including pop, gospel and country.

"Shine" is the first original musical for the group and is a collaborative effort. Music and executive direction came from Nada Long, minister of music, direction by Harrison, and the cast, crew, and orchestra are made up of youth and adults from the church.

Ebenezer's XStream has a history of offering productions to the community. During the last few years, the ensemble has staged many productions including Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" and Stephen Schwartz's "Godspell." They have also performed the National Anthem for the Atlanta Braves for the last three years.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. A nursery will be provided during all performances. All proceeds benefit Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
