Mr. Edwin Earl Brown, age 87 of Conyers, died Wednesday, March 16, 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Wagner Brown and sister, Virginia Phillippi. He is survived by his daughter, Jeanne Rue, Covington; grandchildren, Michael and Melody Rue, Conyers, Lisa and Michael Dickson, Covington; great-grandchildren, Shane Rue, Mikey Rue, Amanda Rue, and Austin Rue; sister, Evelyn Blevins, Charlotte, NC. Earl served as a Coxswain in the United States Navy during WWII. He served in the North Africa Campaign, in Italy, and participated in the third wave in Normandy on Omaha and Utah Beaches. He was a Master Mason of Shelby Lodge No. 162 in Bristol, VA. Earl was a former member of Honey Creek Country Club and was an avid golfer and general aviation pilot. Family will receive friends Saturday, March 26, 2011 from 2 until 4 p.m. at the funeral home. A private family interment will be held at GA National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
