A Conyers man was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs after careening across Interstate-20 and running into three cars on July 15.
Around 2:15 a.m., Michael Crutchfield, 36, of Conyers, was driving a Kia Sephia in the left lane of I-20, just east of Parker Road. He reportedly swerved over to the center lane and hit a vehicle in that lane. He then crossed back over to the right lane, striking a car, and struck a third vehicle before swerving across the road and hitting the median.
When police arrived, he was attempting to crawl out of the driver's side window. He claimed there had been another driver who had run off, but witnesses reported only one person was in the car.
No one was seriously injured in the crash.
Crutchfield was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, driving on a suspended license, failure to maintain lane and no insurance.
