Three people were arrested last week following an early-morning drive-by shooting that began on Broad Street and continued to a residence on Spring Street in Milstead.

According to the Rockdale County Sheriff's Department, a call came in around 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 17 reporting shots being fired from a vehicle.

The victims reported their car was shot at twice from another vehicle that had followed them on Broad Street and twice when they pulled into a residence located at 1703 Spring Street. The three passengers were uninjured and were able to give authorities a description of the grey Ford Fusion and the driver that had been shooting.

Officers immediately located the suspect's vehicle nearby at 1757 New Street, where three suspects were found hiding in a closet connected to a porch and a gun believed to be used in the shooting was located next to the porch.

Deputies arrested the driver, Darren Ray Waddell, 29, of Newborn, on charges of aggravated assault, firearm used by convicted felon during commission of crime, operating a motor vehicle while license suspended or revoked, reckless driving, reckless conduct and felony violation of probation.

Deputies also arrested Waddell's passengers, who were charged on unrelated offenses.

Christopher John Thomas, 34, of Conyers was arrested for possession of methamphetamine after deputies allegedly found approximately 3.6 grams of methamphetamine on him during the arrest.

Kasie Arrant, 35, of Eatonton, was arrested on an active probation violation warrant from Putnam County.
