Mrs. Dorothy Elizabeth Huiet Lancaster, age 78 of Newnan, formerly of Conyers, died Monday, October 17, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken Lancaster. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Christy and Kevin Sheahan, Newnan, Cathy Lancaster Abbott, Roswell; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Lisa Lancaster, Lawrenceville; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Virginia Huiet, Newnan; stepfather, Robert Pittman, Newnan; brother-in-law, Bill and Joyce Lancaster, Covington; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. A native of Fulton County, Dot Lancaster was a graduate of Atlanta's Smith High School, where she was voted "Most Talented" in her senior class. She was a long-time member of Conyers Christian Church before moving to Newnan, Georgia in 2004. Mrs. Lancaster was also a very active member of Senior Friends and AARP in Newnan, Georgia. Mrs. Lancaster cherished the many friendships she developed throughout her lifetime through her church and various organizations. What she enjoyed most in this life was spending time with her family. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel with Rev. Curt Zehner and Rev. Bill Rollins officiating; interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park in Covington. Family will receive friends Wednesday, October 19, 2011 from 4 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
