Members of the AT&T Natural Disaster Recovery Special Operations Team, Environmental Protection Agency Monitoring Team and Rockdale Fire & Rescue Hazmat Team will participate in a natural disaster recovery drill at AT&T’s Salem Road facility on Tuesday, May 8.

Dressed in full hazmat gear and surrounded by AT&T emergency vehicle fleet, the group will simulate a real-life natural disaster in a controlled part of the building located at 2315 Salem Road.

The drill will illustrate the type of reconnaissance and maintenance work the team would do if the building was contaminated by a chemical or biological hazard.

The EPA monitoring team will take air samples, while Rockdale Fire & Rescue will handle the decontamination portion of the drill.

AT&T will use this event to highlight its recent recognition by the Department of Homeland Security for its emergency preparedness program.
