Deputies seek public's help in searching for armed robbery suspect

The Rockdale County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in locating a man that robbed a store clerk and the employees of the Bella Vista Hispanic Grocery Mart located at 1373 Iris Drive. At 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 17

A male suspect entered the store, approached the clerk and its employees, brandished a black semi-automatic pistol, and demanded money from the cash register. The suspect then fled the store in a white 1995 Chevrolet Corsica. The Corsica was recovered by investigators and later determined to have been stolen out of Dekalb County in an earlier carjacking and armed robbery in Decatur, Ga. There were no injuries in either incident.

The suspect is described as a black male with a slender build, approximately 5-foot 8-inches tall, 150 to 160 pounds. possibly with a birthmark under the left side of his eye. At the time of the incident at the Bella Vista Grocery he was wearing a knitted yellow and black stripped hat with dreadlocks and large dark sunglasses. He is believed to live in the Conyers area.
