The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in with information on several drive-by style shootings that have occurred since September 2012.

Since early September 2012, four houses, two vehicles and a tractor have been shot in what is believed to be at least seven random drive-by style shootings in south Rockdale County. The shootings have all taken place within a couple miles of each other, and there does not appear to be any link between the victims.

The first shooting incident took place on the same night in early September 2012 on Oglesby Bridge Road and Crowell Road when two houses were shot. The second shooting incident occurred when a house on Plantation Boulevard was shot one night in mid-November 2012. In early January 2013, a tractor parked on the side of Oglesby Bridge Road was shot. The most recent shootings involved two vehicles and a house that were shot on the same evening on Cowan Road in early February 2013.

Sheriff Eric Levett said, “This is a very serious matter and we want to have the person or people responsible arrested before someone gets hurt. We’ve been fortunate that no one has been shot so far, but a couple of the bullets went into areas of the houses where someone could have easily been hit.”

Anyone with information about these shootings is asked to contact Lt. Matt Wolfe at 770-278-8152.

If someone wants to submit an anonymous tip, they can contact Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS (8477) or at www.crimestoppersatlanta.org. A cash reward may be available for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect(s) involved.
