Democratic Party hosts annual gala

 Members of Rockdale County’s Democratic Party will have a chance to gather and celebrate achievements in education, health and human services, business and government.

 The Rockdale County Democratic Party’s second annual Formal Gala Celebration will be held Saturday, April 24, from 4 p.m. until 1 a.m. in Olde Towne Conyers.

 "We are excited about hosting this event in our county that celebrates achievements in education, health and human services, business, government, and faith-based activities," Rockdale Democratic Party chairman Stan Williams said. "Proceeds from our gala will fund our scholarships for a graduating senior from each of our three high schools and our ongoing community service projects in Rockdale."

 The "One community-one goal" themed event will start with a VIP cocktail reception at the Borage Grill from 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. The education awards ceremony will then take place from 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Club 908, followed by the Stellar Celebration from 7:30 p.m. until 1 a.m. at Sharon’s Mansion Restaurant.

 VIP tickets are $75 in advance or $100 at the door, and general admission tickets are $50 in advance and $75 at the door.

 People are also asked to donate two children’s books.
