Rockdale County deputies arrested an Eatonton man and woman after finding a package of cocaine hidden in the man's shorts during a traffic stop.

Charles Dontrell Reese, Jr., 27, and Shameka Dyell Griffin, 28, were stopped shortly after 1 a.m. on May 30 along Pine Log Road and Ga. Highway 138 for a tag light violation.

A scan of their information revealed that each had probation charges out of Eatonton. Griffin, the driver of the vehicle, reportedly gave consent for deputies to search the vehicle and Reese reportedly gave consent for deputies to search his person.

When deputies located a "large item" in between Reese's legs, the suspect reportedly became uncooperative and was subdued and placed into handcuffs.

In a report, Deputy John Acosta wrote, "After a further search of his person I was unable to get the item out of Mr. Reese's underwear, but was able to use a pocket knife to cut a hole in them to retrieve a large plastic baggy containing suspected cocaine."
Deputies also reportedly found small amounts of marijuana and cocaine in the vehicle.

Griffin was later searched by a female officer who reportedly found small amounts of marijuana on Griffin.

The suspected cocaine and marijuana were submitted to field tests, which came out positive.

Reese and Griffin were booked into the Rockdale County jail. During a search at the jail, deputies reportedly found another small baggie of cocaine on Reese.

Griffin was charged with possession of marijuana less than an ounce.

Reese had pending warrants for Trafficking a Controlled Substance (Cocaine), Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Distribute (Cocaine), Obstruction, Possession of Marijuana Less Than One Ounce and Crossing a Guard Line with Drugs.
