After a call of "Police...Open Up," at her front door, a Conyers resident had her apartment broken into, where she was robbed at gunpoint.
At approximately 2:30 a.m. on July 10 Conyers Police responded to a victim who was laying on her couch when she heard a knock at the door at the time the power flickered on and off in her residence.
She did not answer to the knocking and then, according to reports, approximately 20 minutes later saw a flashlight shining in and heard the false police call at the door.
Then, later, she heard a loud banging at the door, which was kicked open. According to reports, an unknown black male, approximately 6-feet tall, heavy set, wearing black wool hat, black T-shirt, black pants and a black scarf covering his face.
After entering the apartment, the suspect pointed a silver pistol to her and asked "where is the money at." According to reports, the victim responded "please don't kill me." She then had her purse stolen from the victim who ran out of the apartment.
A witness in nearby apartments also told authorities they heard "a loud banging on the aprtment next door," and 10 minutes later, heard "a very loud crashing sound, and (the victim) screaming."
Authorities later called the bank, which said the victim's debit card had been used at approximately 2:47 a.m. and had a negative balance on it, but did not have a location because they were updating their system.
The suspect was not apprehended.
