A Conyers man was reportedly shot in the leg while walking along Sigman Road after two male suspects attempted to rob him at gunpoint on May 23.

Deputies responded to a call at the Rockdale Medical Center around 9 p.m. regarding a person shot in the leg. The patient told deputies that he had been walking along Sigman East to the grocery store shortly after 8:30 p.m. when a light green car pulled up next to him.

The man in the passenger side “leaned out with a small handgun” and demanded that the victim empty his pockets, according to a report. When the victim responded that he did not have anything in his pockets, the passenger reportedly shot the victim in the leg, just below the knee.

The shooter was described as light-skinned, but the victim could not describe the driver or give any other description of the shooter, according to the report. The victim said he did not know the suspects.

If anyone has more information about the incident, they can call the Criminal Investigation Unit at (770) 918-6700.
