The Georgia Electric Membership Corporation Counsel Association (GEMCCA) named Laura French to serve as its President for 2012-2013. A partner in the Conyers law firm of Talley, French & Kendall, P.C., French is the first female EMC general counsel to serve as GEMCCA’s President. She has served as general counsel to Snapping Shoals EMC for over a decade.

“I am honored to be chosen by my colleagues in Georgia. Along with our respective clients, the members of GEMCCA share a deep commitment to our EMC members and communities. I look forward to serving the association over the next year,” French said.

French received her juris doctor from the Georgia State University College of Law and her LL.M. (masters) in Taxation from the University of Alabama School of Law.

GEMCCA provides a forum for attorneys to tap into the collective expertise of their colleagues in order to represent their EMCs and members effectively and efficiently.
