It may be coming earlier this year, but any time is a good time to celebrate the food and flavors of Conyers with the annual Taste of Conyers celebration on Saturday, May 14, from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The Taste of Conyers, held in the streets of Olde Town Conyers, features local restaurants offering small samples, or tastes, of their specialties for $1 per sample. One dollar tickets will be available for purchase in any quantity. Restaurants price their samples ranging from $1 - $4 per sample.
Restaurants scheduled to participate to date include: Las Flores, El Coqui Café, Café Milano, Papa Jack’s Seafood, Don Tello’s, Creamberry’s, Borage Grill, Celtic Tavern, Mellow Mushroom, Tasty Treats Italian Ice, Atlanta Pizza and Gyro, Sugar Bakers, Whistle Post Tavern and Creolaise Ballroom and Bistro, with other restaurants expected to sign up prior to the event.
The Taste of Conyers also features entertainment, children’s activities and live cooking demonstrations.
"The Taste of Conyers was originally held in the fall but the Main Street Board decided to make it a spring time event to take advantage of the cooler weather," explained Main Street Manager Monica Coffin. "People are more eager to be out in the streets of our historic district sampling delicious food from a variety of restaurants."
For more information on the event or for restaurants to register to participate, contact Coffin at the Conyers Welcome Center at 770-602-2606 or visit www.conyersmainstreet.com.
