Community turns out to pay final respects to slain deputy

The funeral service was standing room only and crowds spilled into overflow rooms for Rockdale County Sheriff's Office Deputy Brian Mahaffey, who was shot and killed Saturday.

Hundreds of law enforcement and public safety personnel from across the metro-Atlanta region, across the state, and even across the country poured into the parking lot and sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Conyers to pay their final respects to Mahaffey, the first Rockdale deputy killed in the line of duty since 1917...
