We the citizens of Pinedale Circle neighborhood say Thank You. I'm here to express gratitude to you (the city council) and your team. This time last month, you allowed us to address the present situation, which resulted in your statement "We will not forget you."
That statement resonated with me. However, your actions spoke louder than words. You and your squad have been busy. The response has been overwhelming. You went far and beyond what we asked for. Each department, each working party made it look so easy. Each staff member facilitated his or her part so when the next group came behind, their duty was completed with ease. Our neighborhood has had tremendous transformation. It was like a relay race. It began early the next morning with Jerry the supervisor. Steve Owens and a police officer came by surveying the neighborhood, writing tickets for abandoned vehicles. There were fire engines and the police patrol.
Sunday, the icing on the cake was First Baptist Church of Conyers. I was returning home with my son from my church. When I got to Irwin Bridge, there were vehicles lined up on both sides of the street. There were canisters, lawn mowers going, and it was just awesome.
Monday, I met Daniel Whildby, who was picking up leaves and branches. He said he'd be back early in the morning. Sure enough, early in the morning, I was on my way out of the neighborhood and I saw these three trucks with flat beds attached to it. They were turning onto Pinedale Circle. When I came back, I met Mike and Doug. They were picking up large pieces of wood and the logs. I met Richard White, Brandon Ford, Jermaine Jackson, James Penn, Shane Blankenship, Billy Colburn, Oswald.
In conclusion, I say thank you. Do not hold back. Continue to use your authority. Regarding code enforcement, one solution, if needed, is to draw new legislation to impose hefty fines on property owners who don't clean up their property. Force them to update their contact information, including their phone numbers. Maybe we should have a spot to rent out a lawn mower, weed eater and a gas can.
We also need a pole light on our street.
We also have a dumping ground behind our house. They're saying it belongs to Georgia Power. I wish y'all would help.
I was moved by Mr. Martin Jones' statement to the other councilmen, but he was strongly ignored, regarding the millage rate increase.
Thank you and may God continue to bless you and yours.
