Cherry Blossom Festival

This is a grand weekend in Conyers and Rockdale. Community leaders and civic groups will get together at the Centennial Olympic Horse Park to celebrate a special rite of spring - the blooming of the beautiful cherry blossom and the spirit of friendship it symbolizes.

The first festival was held in 1982 by the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber of Commerce and the Maxell Corporation of America, which was part of the Hitatchi Maxell company in Japan. The president of Maxell had given a contribution of cherry trees to the city of Conyers.

Today, the Conyers Cherry Blossom Festival has grown to an award-winning annual event featuring a wide range of crafts and attractions that attracts 40,000 visitors annually.

The festival is being held today and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is a great opportunity for you and your whole family to get outside and enjoy the start of our famous Georgia spring.

WE will be there, so please stop by and meet our staff. We will have some giveaways and we will be glad to share a few laughs.
