What started out as a chase in Newton County ended on Interstate 20 around 5:45 a.m. this morning, when a vehicle driven by a burglary suspect spun out of control after troopers from the Georgia State Patrol performed the PIT maneuver on it.

Around 5 a.m. deputies from the Newton County Sheriff's Office responded to the Pony Express gas station at Ga. Highway 11 after witnesses called reporting a burglary. A suspect was located and a vehicle chase ensued. The driver, who is not being identified at this time, fled into Rockdale County and then into DeKalb.
