Casino night to raise funds for Rockdale Cares

Embrace your inner Frank Sinatra with a glamorous local Casino Night, Saturday, Aug. 9. This fantastic evening of games also serves as a fundraiser for the Rockdale Cares, which serves the developmentally challenged.

An evening out drinking fine beer and wine requires a corresponding outfit, so don’t be afraid to glam it up a little.

Expect an evening of classic casino games including poker, black jack, roulette, etc. as well as a few rounds of bingo and some special contests and giveaways. Seasoned golfers can enter a putting contest where the first to sink 9 in a row wins a generous cash prize. Enter to win a Green Egg, valued at $1600, or the coveted wine chest.

The dice start rolling at 6:30 p.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Tickets are $35 a piece and must be purchased in advance, so don’t hesitate to make your reservations. Contact Barbara Kilpatrick for tickets at rockcare@comcast.net

Rockdale Cares offers services and activities designed to benefit the developmentally challenged. They are outspoken advocates within local and state government. Their calendar fills up quickly with community events, an adult day program, social opportunities, educational meetings, housing, and horticulture therapy. Aware of the toll constant care can take, Rockdale Cares also provides a respite venue called Haven House to caregivers and family members of developmentally challenged individuals. Proceeds from Casino Night will go toward the budget for Haven House. This unique program allows much needed relaxation time for deserving families.
