A Conyers man has been arrested for his connection to a carjacking that left four adults and child staring the down the barrel of gun.

Joshua Singh, 23, was allegedly with an unknown male suspect Tuesday afternoon when the unknown suspect used a handgun to steal a rental truck that was registered to the mother of the 29-year-old male victim.

The male victim was accompanied by an adult female and adult male in their early 20s and a 2-year-old girl at the time of the incident. No one was harmed and there weren't any reports of gunshots being fired.

The male victim informed the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office deputies that the group traveled to the residence in the 2300 block of Georgia Highway 138 because Singh, who the male victim identified only as Joshua, told him about a children's birthday party that was supposed to be taking place at the location. When the group pulled into the driveway of the residence, the victim alleges Singh and the unknown suspect were sitting in a white passenger car.

While in the driveway, the male victim stated the unknown suspect pulled out a handgun, possibly a 38-caliber or a 9-millimeter, and demanded the occupants to get out of the vehicle. He then took the property of the group, including two iPhones and a package of hairweave, and took off in the truck.

The truck, worth about $40,000, was described as a black 2014 Dodge Ram 1500. It was recovered about a mile north of the incident in the Sugar Hill subdivision, says RCSO spokesperson Cpl. Michael Camp.

"It was basically just dumped," he said.

RCSO investigators were able to identify Singh within about two hours of the incident. An arrest warrant was obtained and Singh was arrested at his residence, 1851 Irwin Bridge Road in Conyers, around 7:30 p.m.

The other items taken during the robbery have a total value of $400. Several of the items were recovered at Singh's residence after he was arrested.

The white vehicle, which had a license plate registered to a black 1990 Porsche 911 Carrera, used in the robbery was also located at Singh's residence parked behind the house.

Singh is currently in Rockdale County Jail. He's being charged with armed robbery.

The other assailant is still at-large.

"We are still attempting to identify the second suspect, who is described in the report as a black male with dreadlocks and facial hair," said Camp.
