IN BRIEF: A Conyers woman drove a Ford Expedtion into a house on Old Salem Road shortly after 11 a.m. on Friday. First responders arrived to 1645 Old Salem Road to find a Ford Expedition inside the middle of the vacant house, which was being remodeled.

The Expedition was reportedly traveling east on Old Salem Road and veered off the roadway and ran into the one-story single family house, according to Rockdale County Fire and Rescue spokesperson Sharon Webb.

The driver, a 34-year-old Dontrell Denby, was transported by ambulance to Rockdale Medical Center. The male passenger was reportedly not hurt.

Rockdale County Fire and Rescue stabilized the inner walls until the car could be removed by a tow truck, according to Webb. Investigators are still looking for the owner of the house.

Denby was charged with driving under the influence and failure to maintain lane and booked into the Rockdale County jail after she was released from the hospital.
