Kierra Camp continued her dominance over the high school softball world and Heritage continued its impressive winning streak and unbeaten record in Region 8-AAAAA on Thursday night.

The Patriots (19-1, 6-0) beat Gainesville 7-1 on the road behind 12 strikeouts throughout seven innings by Camp.

Camp (10-0) gave up just one hit and the one run as the Patriots' offense did the rest of the work.

Diamond Callwood, Camp, Macarri Wilkerson and Taylor Moser had two hits each, with Camp driving in two runs and Wilkerson and Moser driving in one run apiece.

Heritage looks to seal the top seed heading into the top seed in the Region 8-AAAAA tournament Sept. 24. The Patriots take on 3-1 Winder-Barrow at home Tuesday and then travel to 3-1 Loganville on Thursday.

The Patriots have not won by fewer than six runs since beating non-region foe Berrien in the Watermelon Classic in Cordele on Aug. 25.

Heritage had its shortest game Tuesday, beating Cedar Shoals 15-0 in three innings, lasting just 42 minutes.
