Two Rockdale County men were recently arrested after allegedly being caught stealing a weed eater and a gas can from a Milstead residence.

According to the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office, Terry Owen Fish, Jr., 43, of 1995 Hwy 20 N, and Jeffery Donald Cobb, 35, of 1987 Hwy 20 N, were arrested for the crime that took place at 8:47 am on May 17.

According to the police report, the two suspects allegedly waited for the resident of 1556 Broad Street to leave for work before they used bolt cutters to gain entry to the shed on the property. Family members of the property owners arrived at the residence shortly after and noticed the lock to the shed was missing. They then reported noticing movement inside the shed before a white male came running out of the shed with his shirt over his head. The suspect then tripped and fell, when he was then recognized as Jeffery Cobb, who resides next door to the scene.

Cobb then fled the scene and was apprehended hours later with Terry Fish, who witnesses said aided in the crime. Upon investigation of the scene, deputies also found a bag loaded with other items the two suspects allegedly intended to steal along with a lawn mower that had been removed from the shed.

The two men were charged with burglary, possession of tools for commission of a crime, possession of marijuana less than one ounce and possession and use of drug related objects.

According to the police report, the weed eater and gas can were not recovered but the two men are considered suspects in four other area burglaries involving the theft of copper wire.
