Body found in creek identified as missing Conyers man

The body found Friday afternoon in a Newton County creek has been identified through dental work as 55-year-old Timothy Clements of Conyers. According to Georgia Bureau of Investigations officials, Clements death has been ruled a homicide.

The cause of death has not been released at this time but the Newton County Sheriff's Office, with assistance from the GBI, are investigating the death - the first in the county this year.

Clements worked as a landscaper, according to a GBI press release, and had been reported missing by his family at 11:30 a.m. Friday. He was last seen leaving his job Thursday morning at approximately 6 a.m. Clements' truck, a 1991 red Ford F-150 with tag number 955BJR is missing as well.
