Mr. James Robert "Bob" Claxton, Sr., age 75 of McDonough, died Thursday, April 14, 2011.  He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara Claxton, McDonough; sons and daughter-in-law, Jim and Dee Dee Claxton, McDonough, Michael Claxton, Searcy, AR; daughter, Beth Claxton, McDonough; grandchildren, Lacey Claxton, Kayla Claxton, Jimmy Claxton, Samuel Daniels, all of McDonough; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Floyd Garner, Woodstock.  A loving husband, father, and a gentle Christian servant, Bob Claxton loved his family and the Lord.  He was active in four different Atlanta area congregations of the Church of Christ - Kirkwood, Hillcrest, Conyers, and Lithonia.  He directed building committees, Sunday School programs, taught Bible classes for teenagers and served as a Deacon.  Professionally, he was president of Claxton Printing Company of Atlanta from 1980 to 2001, having worked as a printer all his life.  One special ministry he loved was donating printed materials to area churches and overseas missionaries.  He coached little league basketball, enjoyed fishing, and sold antiques for many years at the Lakewood, Don Scott, and Pride of Dixie Antique Markets in Atlanta.  He was kind, generous, and friendly to everyone he met.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 3 p.m. at Conyers Church of Christ with Richard Dickerson and Jeff Johnson officiating.  Family will receive friends Friday, April 15, 2011 from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to Conyers Church of Christ, 1410 Flat Shoals Road SE, Conyers, GA  30013.  Condolences may be submitted on-line at www.scotward.com.  Scot Ward Funeral Services at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens, 699 American Legion Road, Conyers, GA 30012, 770-483-7216.
