A county appraiser may be coming by your neighborhood this month. Georgia Law (OCGA 48-5-264.1) requires property owners and occupants be provided reasonable notice prior to a site visit conducted by or on behalf of the Rockdale County Board of Assessors. The following areas have been schedule for a site visit by an appraiser during September, October, and/or November 2009.

Irwin Place
St. Remy
Fountain Crest
Sugar Hill
The Preserve at Traver's Creek
The Falls at Bridgewater
Royal Lake Estates
Stoneview Acres
Kingston Woods
Creekwood Manor
Almond Road vicinity

As well as parcels that have changed ownership, obtained a building permit for construction, zoning change, fire damage or demolition.

The purpose of these site visits is to update the property record which enables the Board of Assessors Office to more accurately determine fair market values and/or make other determinations as required by law. The appraiser will have a photo identification badge and will be driving an appropriately marked County government vehicle.

Questions regarding the identity of the appraiser may be directed to the Board of Assessors Office at 770-278-7676.
