Blue Christmas

First Baptist Church of Conyers is celebrating a Blue Christmas this year.

For their community impact project, the church is aiming to supply 100 homeless shelters in the area and Atlanta with a year’s supply of jeans for shelter residents that are in need of clothes.

To that end, the church is collecting donations of gently worn denim in any size and in any color with no holes in them. Their goal is to collect 10,000 jeans; so far, they’ve collected about 5,000.

"I want this to be a challenge to our whole community," said FBC pastor Dr. Jeff Meyers, while speaking to the Rockdale Rotary club. "One church came up with one idea and it changed a city for a year."
