Bears reporting for duty: For more than 10 years now, the Unity Church of Rockdale has been donating bears to the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office before Christmas. The bears are carried in the deputy cars and handed to children who have families involved in a crisis. RCSO spokeswoman Sgt. Jodi Shupe, said, "We appreciate this program. We make good use of these bears." The Rev. Joyce Crawford, Unity Church of Rockdale minister, delivered the bears on Christmas Eve with two members of the church’s youth program, Max Porter, 10, and Marieanne Porter, 14.
