(Jan. 29, 12:35 p.m.) Teams from each of Rockdale County Public Schools' 11 elementary schools gathered at the Rockdale Career Academy bright and early Saturday morning for the Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl and for the technology showcase.

Comptetitors had spent the last several months reading more than 15 books from a predetermined list. At the Bowl, the teams were grilled on the content of those books as they slogged through seven rounds of questions.

The teams with the highest scores will have the chance to represent Rockdale County at the regional level Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl.

RCPS schools also showcased their technology-related programs, classes, clubs and project in the RCA lobby.
