IN BRIEF: The director of the Barksdale Boys and Girls Club in Conyers, who was appointed less than six months ago, is no longer with the club, according to Metro Atlanta BGC officials.

Ty Woods was appointed as director of the Barksdale Club after previous director Erly Saldano, who had served in the role since 2009, left for another position. Woods came to the BGC of Metro Atlanta after heading a youth art program in Cobb County.

"We want to thank Ty for her work with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta and wish her well," wrote Bobby Dunn, Regional Director of Field Services for the BGC of Metro Atlanta, in a statement to the board.

A new Barksdale director may be named by the end of the month, according to Dunn.

A Human Resources representative of the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Atlanta declined to say whether Woods had resigned or was terminated but said Woods' last day was April 13.
