Author Ted Dunagan stopped by Davis Middle School to hand deliver his book "A Yellow Watermelon" to fan Jami Ragan.

Dunagan, the winner of the 2009 Georgia Author of the Year by the Georgia Writer's Association, offered to drop by after Ragan, a school nurse at DMS, sent him an email explaining how much she enjoyed his weekly newspaper column "I’m Fixin’ To" and how much she wanted to attend one of his book signings.

“I can’t believe he was willing to come all the way out here to bring me his book,” Ragan said thrilled that she would not only get the book but meet one of her favorite authors as well.
