Mrs. Atha Padgett Heard, age 88 of Conyers, died Friday, April 15, 2011.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave Jackson Watkins and Cortez Coe Watkins; brother, Jack Watkins; husband, William Taylor Padgett; daughter, Carol Elaine Pritchett-Davis.  She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Benny Bennett, Flowery Branch; sister and brother-in-law, Edna Watkins Moore and Rodney Moore, Toccoa; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rex and Dot Watkins, Toccoa, Blair and Alma Watkins, Aiken, SC; sister-in-law, Juddie Watkins, Lavonia; grandchildren, Michael and (Mary) Hendrix, Chris and (Margene) Hendrix, Brett Hendrix, Lacey and (Robbie) Hendrix-Rudasill, Shane and (Crystal) Pritchett, Elijah Davis; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Jake, and Lexy Hendrix, Laine and Shelby Pritchett; nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Heard was a retired operator at Southern Bell.  She was a founding member of Northminster Baptist Church, established September 16, 1979.  She was a member of the Happy Hearts Club, Red Hat Club and the Rockdale Senior Center where she participated in the Senior Gold Olympics annually and sung in the choir.  She also enjoyed gardening and being involved with her family, friends, and church.  Funeral services will be held Monday, April 18, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Northminster Baptist Church, 300 Hightower Trail, Conyers, with Pastor Paul Casola officiating; interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens.  Family will receive friends Sunday, April 17, 2011 from 4 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.  Condolences may be submitted on-line at www.scotward.com.  Scot Ward Funeral Services at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens, 699 American Legion Road, Conyers, GA 30012, 770-483-7216.
