Armed robbery suspect arrested

Conyers Police and Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a Conyers man on Thursday for robbing a female pedestrian at knife point. 

Just before noon on Thursday, Sept. 12, Conyers Police responded to the Salem Gate Shopping Center to investigate a reported armed robbery in the parking lot. The suspect had fled the scene prior to arrival. Through video surveillance and a thorough canvassing of the area, police were able to identify the suspect as 18-year-old Dajaun Jnbaptist.

Conyers Police and the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant and arrest warrants at 6:40 p.m. at Jnbaptist’s residence at Tall Oaks Circle, Conyers. Jnbaptist was taken in to custody without incident at his residence at that time. He is currently being housed at the Rockdale County Jail on charges of Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon, and Battery. 

The victim was not injured.
