Angels in the Outfield
angels---luminary-for-Brad
Philadelphia United Methodist Church members suited up last weekend for Rockdale County's Relay for Life. Joining hundreds of other groups at the Georgia International Horse Park, the group won Best Campsite award for their baseball stadium replica. Complete with a life size diamond, dugout, and fully stocked concession stand, the atmosphere was contagious as the men sported baseball uniforms and ladies donned halos. The team was inspired by their friend Brad Porter, who lost his brave fight to cancer in 2006. The team was busy as they walked the track to show their support, rallied around survivors and honored those who have passed. Craig McCullough, team captain for the group said that they want to encourage those who are fighting cancer.

"You're not alone," McCullough said. "You've got an angel with you."
The group of 30, including Brad's daughter, Lauren, raised more than $4,000. One poster in front of their stadium captured the enthusiastic spirit of the group, "Let's bat cancer outta here!"
