Rockdale Emergency Relief announced it appointed John Alread as interim executive director following the June 27 resignation of previous director Ashley Roesler

Roesler, who served as RER's executive director since 2006, has taken a position as division director, Central Georgia at March of Dimes.

In addition to serving as Interim Executive Director, Alread will continue to serve as program manager and facilitator, as well as overseeing Housing Retention and the Financial Assistance Program.

A native of Martinez, Ga., Alread holds a BA from Point University and a MA from Cincinnati Christian University. He has 24 years experience managing non-profit programs and ministies, as well as direct service experience including project and program development, implementation and evaluation.

RER started as a grass-roots organization in Conyers-Rockdale County in 1967 and as a homelessness prevention organization providing programming, supportive services, and assistance to individuals and families experiencing a disruption in stability and self-sufficiency because of circumstantial financial hardships.
