An alert neighbor helped lead to the arrest of a burglary suspect on Wednesday.

According to a press release by the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office, at around 10 a.m. on Independence Drive a neighbor watched as an "unfamiliar male knocked on a neighbor's front door."

The male then peaked into the windows before going around to the back of the house.

According to the press release, the neighbor then heard what they thought was the rear door being kicked in, and called 911.

Deputies arrived as the suspect was beginning to drive away, and caught up with the vehicle on Granade Road.
After the pursued vehicle stopped on Hidden Acres Drive, the suspect then ran on foot toward the Holly Hill subdivision.

Deputies set up a small perimeter and took the suspect, Tykievien Charles Banks, into custody without incident.
Banks, 19, of Conyers was taken to Rockdale County Jail, and faces charges of Burglary, Fleeing/Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, Willful Obstruction of Law Enforcement Officers and Reckless Driving.
