The Chi Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. ended breast cancer awareness month with a Zumba Pink Exercise Party at Edwards Middle School Gymnasium.  Each participant was asked to donate $5 for the American Cancer Society. Bernadette Chang of the American Cancer Society provided a presentation regarding breast cancer awareness and received a check from this event in the amount of $300. In addition, the chapter ended the weekend in collaboration with Antioch AME Church, Conyers, with a Worship In Pink service.  With a donation of $100 from the service, the American Cancer Society received a total of $400 from the weekend’s activities. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. is the first black Greek letter sorority founded in 1908 at Howard University.  The local chapter Chi Tau Omega was chartered in 2004 and has been providing service to Newton and Rockdale Counties for seven years.
