Feeling lucky? Then get ready for a night at the casino as the A.R. "Gus" Barksdale Boys and Girls Club hosts its 27th annual Super Saturday Night fundraising gala on May 21 at the Georgia International Horse Park.
This year’s Super Saturday Night will feature casino-style gaming tables, professional dealers and chips. A disc jockey will be supplying music throughout the night and prizes will be awarded to chip leaders. There will also be a silent auction, including original artwork from Boys and Girls Club youth and other great packages and prizes, to raise additional funds.
"Super Saturday Night’s has always been a fun and innovative way to get the community together to raise awareness for such a great cause. The Boys & Girls Clubs help so many young people and this is just a small way of giving back," said Al Moreno, Rockdale Club Board Chair.
This annual event brings together community leaders to raise funds and awareness for the Barksdale Boys & Girls Club, located on O’Kelly Street near the post office. Tickets are currently available for purchase for $35 each. For more information regarding registration or sponsorship, visit www.bgcma.org/event/209 or call (770) 922-7402.
The club provides youth with a positive place to go, results-oriented programming and a professional staff to guide them. Every year, more than 1,000 children and teens are served at the club. Of those, 68 percent are economically disadvantaged and 62 percent are from a single parent household.
