Rockdale County 4-H members recently won top spots in the Cotton Boll and Consumer Judging Competition. These 4-Her’s worked hard for weeks preparing for this competition. They perfected their consumer skills by learning about fast food meals, watches, movie rentals and blue jeans. They were asked to look at a situation for each class and decide which product in that class would be the best fit for that certain situation. Cotton Boll and Consumer Judging is sponsored by the Georgia Cotton Commission. Each 4-H member wrote either a 30 second commercial or a 90-second advertisement about cotton and presented it at the competition. Rockdale 4-H competed at the Conyers Area Competition on Nov. 14 against 10 other teams. Rockdale 4-H Junior Team (5th- 7th graders) placed third and the Senior Team (9th-12th graders) placed second. The Senior Team advances to the State Competition this month. (Pictured left to right) Back Row: Sara Yarberry, Amir Handy, Benahia Chandler, Rashad Harris, Justin Spencer and Naimah Harris.
