The East Metro Atlanta Christian Writers invite residents to attend their event on Nov. 10 from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Georgia Piedmont College Building D, located on Alcovy Road in Covington. Fiction and nonfiction writers above the age of 16 are encouraged to attend. Julie Garon, multi-published writer will host her theme, "Putting Your Heart on Paper" alongside her daughter Marion Bond West as she host her theme," Writing with Emotion."

"We're all about educating. That's our mission," said Jackie Rodriguez, the director for the East Metro Atlanta Christian Critique group.

"It's a good way to sort of nudge and inspire you and keep you going."

Rodriguez is a native of Atlanta, but she and her husband have owned a home in Covington for the past two years. Now a retired teacher of 31 years and a member of the EMACC, Atlanta Writers Club, Georgia Romance Writers, and NOLA Stars of Louisiana, she believes it is their duty to spread knowledge and encouragement to those who want to put their ideas and thoughts on paper to share with the world.

Her critique group meets every Tuesday at either the Covington or Conyers Library location from 10:15 a.m. to noon.

"We want people to be inspired. That's why we have so many workshops. Writing in itself is inspiring. The more we can get people to tap into that creativity, the more positive their lives will be. We want people to feel good about themselves."

In spring 2013, the group will host a poetry contest where the winner will receive a grand prize of a trophy.

They will also hold free summer workshops in June, July and August.

The EMACW's core value according to the EMACW website is to educate, encourage and engage writers.

They meet the second Tuesday of every month. The first two visits are free; however, the membership fee is $60. It will cover the months of January through December of the calendar year.

Membership also includes being a part of the East Metro Atlanta Christian Songwriters, the East Metro Atlanta Christian Critique, and the East Metro Atlanta Christian Bloggers. They will hold several conference workshops where you will be able to meet with other multi published writers from across the globe.
