The world cannot know him, but we know him because he indwells us.
Yes, I am referring to the Holy Spirit who indwells every believer in Christ (Romans 8:9). Jesus said the world would not know him, but he also said they would experience him, but only as he lives through you and me.
The world will not recognize that it is the Holy Spirit in us, living through us that causes conviction. But it is.
He works in the world to reveal to the world its need for Jesus. Only as you and I are daily filled (Ephesians 5:8) with the Holy Spirit and walking in his power, are we the effective witnesses Jesus called us to be.
We are not his witnesses in our own power, but only as we invite the Holy Spirit to live through us by his power.
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)
Have you asked the Holy Spirit to fill you fresh and full today?
