Connexion Church is on the move

New on the scene and ready to impact the community of Newton County, Connexion Church is here to stay. Under the leadership of Pastor Andrew Covington, this progressive ministry is proud to announce that they are under a new roof. Kicking off its first service Nov. 9, Connexion church is building a legacy.

Once in partnership with the First United Methodist Church of Covington, Connexion Church wanted to expand the ministry of North Covington Methodist Church. The ministries then decided to marry and created an entirely new ministry called Connexion Church

With new innovations, their objective is to bring a modern day twist to the local community. Integrating contemporary styles and multi-media technology there services are being transformed from traditional to cutting edge.

In speaking with Pastor Andrew, he says that one of the pillars of Connexion church is to reach not only those within the four walls of the church but those who may be unfamiliar with the church setting. Sitting in the heart of the Oxford Community, Connexion Church has already made strides in hosting community wide events.

In The beginning of the school year they hosted their Back to School Bash in which they handed out over 300 bags of school supplies to children within the community. Coming up in the next few weeks they will be collaborating with Allen Memorial United Methodist and reaching the students of Oxford College hosting their very first “Exam Drive-Thru.” Students are encouraged to stop by and enjoy a midnight breakfast.

Other programs they offer are: Celebrate Recovery Program, a program dedicated to individuals who have dealt with drug and alcohol addictions. This program is one out of the many sites within the Covington community to service those individuals who need help.

One of the pillars of Connexion Church is that they desire to add value to the lives of people within the community. Pastor Andrew states that Connexion is here to “Find way in… and just bring more momentum.” For more info on this ministry and how to get involved go to the church website at connexionchurch.org
