Covington First United Methodist Church will celebrate its second annual Change The World, Impact The Community Day on May 7.
The event will begin with The Steeple Chase, a 1-mile fun run at 7:30 a.m. and a 5K race at 8 a.m.
Community events will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., including Christian music; a community service fair and health screenings; a barbecue and dessert cook-off; activities for children including a petting zoo, games, crafts and booths; art displays; and a blood drive.
A Screen on the Green movie and concert begins at 7:30 p.m.
The event is designed to bring a community of faith together for local missions, according to a release.
Collections and money raised in the event will be donated to the ministries including FaithWorks, Food Pantry, Sack Lunch Ministry, Newton Medical Hospital Auxiliary, Washington Street Community Center, Homeless Shelter and the Covington Lions Club.
