Celebration choir hosts guest singer

The Newton County Celebration Choir will perform a concert at 6 p.m. June 1 with guest singer Bishop Paul S. Morton Sr.

Tickets for the performance at the Church at Covington, located on Ga. Highway 142, can be purchased in advance from choir members or at nc3summer.eventbrite.com for $15, or $20 at the door.

For $50, VIP tickets include front-row seating at the concert, access to a meet-and-greet and an opportunity for photos with Morton.

The choir includes about 50 members from three churches, Union Grove United Methodist, James Paschal Baptist, and New Beginning Full Gospel Ministries.

Guest singer Morton is a successful recording artist who has won several Stellar Awards and also is pastor of two churches, Changing a Generation Full Gospel Ministries in Atlanta and Greater St. Stephens Full Gospel Baptist in Louisiana.

This is the first time that Bishop Morton has been in the Newton County area.
